Time Tunnel fans will
always recognize Robert Colbert as Dr. Doug Phillips, but the role was not his first sci-fi adventure.
Colbert had played Dr. Ted Benson in 1959's Have Rocket, Will Travel.
Born in Long Beach, California, Colbert was signed by Columbia pictures in the 1950s.
He made his film debut in 1957
in Under Fire, and spent a season as Brent Maverick on the TV western Maverick, when James Garner left
the series. In addition to a decade on the soap 
The Young and the Restless as Stuart Brooks, Colbert has continued
to appear in science fiction projects such as Amazon Women on the Moon and Irwin Allen's TV
movie City Beneath the
Sea which reunited him with Time Tunnel's James Darren and Whit Bissel.
