As hard as it is to believe, Irwin Allen -  Oscar winning producer, director, screenwriter and television icon - has never been honored with a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame.

We here at Irwin Allen Memories plan to remedy this grievous oversight - and you can help. As plans progress, we will need your support. So bookmark this page and keep track of the work as we attempt to honor this icon of television.

May 2003: The application papers have been obtained. We now have until the end of the month to submit the forms to the committee. Only one posthumous star is allowed each year, so we'll know soon enough whether or not we have a fund raising project ahead of us to pay for the star.

June 2003: The application paperwork has been filled out and mailed to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce prior to today's deadline. Now, we wait until the nomination committee meets later this month to hear of Irwin Allen will be the one posthumous star added this year.

July 2003: I received a call from the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce asking for a letter from Sheila Allen stating that it was acceptable to her  to consider Irwin for the honor. Naturally, a letter was immediately submitted by Sheila.
